Your forecast app has been lying to you.

We track predictions from six weather sources against a physical sensor at a real location. No assumptions. No airport stations. Just data.

How this works

  • Every day at 6 PM, we snapshot tomorrow's forecast from six weather sources
  • Every hour, we poll a Govee temperature sensor at one contributor's home
  • The next morning, we compute actual daily high/low from the 24 hourly sensor readings
  • We compare each source's prediction to the measured actuals and compute miss distance
  • All data is committed to a public GitHub repo — anyone can audit the numbers

Why a physical sensor?

Most weather apps validate against NWS stations — often located at airports miles from your home. That's the same assumption Skeptic is testing. Our ground truth is measured at the exact location where forecasts claim to predict.
